The Council of the European Union has extended sanctions against 32 Iranian maritime companies and the Tejerat Bank until April 13, 2016, after reviewing decision 2011/235/PESC. 40 companies, including those mentioned above, had been removed from the sanctions list by the Court of Justice of the European Union in January 2015 due to the lack of a legal basis for their presence on the list, Interfax reports.

The effect of the extension comes into force today.

The motivations for some individuals and legal bodies were changed. They were lifted for three individuals.
