Malena Mard: EU interested in expanding energy cooperation with Turkmenistan

The European Union is extremely interested in expanding its energy cooperation with Turkmenistan, the head of the EU delegation to Azerbaijan, Malena Mard, said.

According to her, Turkmenistan has large gas reserves, which it can supply to the markets in Europe. "Talks are under way between the EU, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan on the issue. The matter rests in realizing a project for construction of the Trans-Caspian Gas Pipeline, which will allow Turkmen gas to be transported via the infrastructure to be created as part of the Southern Gas Corridor project," Trend cited Mard as saying.
