Erdogan calls for a presidential system in Turkey

A presidential system of government will strengthen Turkey, the country’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, adding that the country needs to switch to this system, TRT Haber TV channel reports.


Before the presidential election in Turkey in August 2014, the country’s then prime minister Erdogan said that moving to a presidential system can promote the country’s further development.


Earlier, Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu also said that the country moving to a presidential system is necessary. He explained the parliamentary system doesn’t meet Turkey’s interests, Trend reports.
