President of Turkmenistan and Foreign Minister of India discuss TAPI project

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov and Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj discussed issues of the practical implementation of the construction project of Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline during a meeting in Ashgabat.
According to the message of the government of Turkmenistan, the sides said that "TAPI is intended to make a significant contribution to sustainable socio-economic development of states of the Asian region and contribute to the strengthening of global energy security as a whole, having become a true bridge of peace, friendship and long-term cooperation on the Eurasian continent".
A trend towards intensification of productive mutually beneficial partnership between Turkmenistan and India in all directions was noted during the discussion, Trend reports.
