Putin heads Time magazine's list of influential people

The preliminary results of an online poll of readers of Time magazine, which ended on Friday at 23:59 Eastern Time USA (6:59 MSK Saturday), show that Russian President Vladimir Putin is ahead of all the world's leaders in the rankings of the 100 most influential people of the publication.

 
The Russian head of state, according to information posted on the website of the publication, has gained 6.9% of the vote and continues to lead the rankings. Pope Francis is in 10th place with 1.5%, US President Barack Obama - 11th place (1.4%). At the same time, President Xi Jinping and German Chancellor Angela Merkel did not even enter the top twenty, while gaining 0.9% of the vote.

 

In November 2014, the Russian leader topped the annual rankings of the most influential people in the world for the second time in a row, according to Forbes.
