Lavrov: world should choose between cooperation and confrontation

Today’s world is on the edge of choosing between cooperation and confrontation just like immediately after World War II, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said today during the fourth conference on international security.

"This year we mark the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory, the celebrations will be attended by representatives of many countries. Unfortunately, shortly after the establishment of the UN, the foundations of the world were undermined by childish bipolar confrontation," the minister said.

According to Lavrov, an effective approach to ensure stability in the world is "building regional security systems based on the same principles of equality."
