Russia returns idle areas leased in Kazakhstan

Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu said at a meeting with his Kazakhstani counterpart Imangali Tasmagambetov at an international security conference in Moscow that the countries signed an agreement, which stipulates that Russia will return idle territories with communications and resources leased from Kazakhstan, Interfax reports.That is over 1.6 million hectares of land.New borders of test sites will allow Russia to test new weapons and vehicles. The document mentioned the sites of Sary-Shagan and the territory where the 929th air and test center of the Russian Air Forces resides in Akhtubinsk.
