Dagestan and Derbent Festival to be held in Paris in December
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe Dagestan Festival planned in Paris for late August-early September this year within the framework of the 2000th anniversary of Derbent has been postponed to late December 2015, it was announced by Dagestani Minister for Culture Zarem Butayev, RIA Novosti reports.
The festival is to coincide with the main anniversary events, hence the postponement.
The festival was organized to kindle interest in the republic and Russia, the integration of Dagestani culture into the international cultural space and to expand international cultural exchange.
The event will include an exhibition of national handicrafts and art, carpets, sewing, ceramics, utensils, costumes and jewelry. A concert of art masters and performers will be organized. A reception will be held on behalf of the Dagestani government.
