Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said during the international student conference 'UN Model' that due to the fact that Russia exercised its veto power in the UN Security Council, Syria will not turn into a second Libya.

"The veto right in the UN Security Council is not a privilege but a great responsibility. Thanks to the veto, we will be able to say that the chance of switching to a political settlement in the Syrian crisis has emerged," TASS cited him as saying.

Lavrov also stressed that Russia is against the politicization of human rights.
