Ilham Aliyev and his wife open Aquatic Palace in Baku

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his wife, the Chairperson of the Baku 2015 First European Games Organizing Committee, Mehriban Aliyeva, attended the opening of the Aquatic Palace in Baku. Youth and Sports Minister Azad Rahimov informed them about the work carried out here.

The President signed a decree on the construction of an Aquatic Palace on 30 August 2012. The foundation stone for the Palace was laid in April 2013, Interfax-Azerbaijan reminded. The Aquatic Palace occupies a total area of 6 hectares. The sports facility covering an area of 72,000 square meters is fully compliant with the requirements of the International Swimming Federation.
