Russian minister announces formation of Russian-Turkish free trade zone

 

The Russian Minister for Economic Development, Alexey Ulyukayev, said at a Russian-Turkish business forum in Antalya that the two states began work on documents to form the free trade zone of services and investments, Interfax reports.After the forum, Ulyukayev met with the Turkish Minister of Economy, Nihat Zeybekci, concluding the talks with an announcement to form an expert group to present proposals on formation of a legal basis of the zone in June.The ministers exchange opinions on the formation of a common fund of investments in Russia and Turkey, use of national currencies in trade turnover. Ulyukayev clarified that the Russian Direct Investment Fund will represent the country in the organization.
