The Ingush authorities have been implementing joint projects with China, as well as with Turkey, for a long time, Yunus-bek Yevkurov, head of the republic, said in an interview for Vestnik Kavkaza.
"We have been working on mutual projects for three years and we are also trying to cooperate with China," he said.
Firstly, we are discussing our cooperation in the field of agriculture. "Chinese manufacturers are interested in growing eco-friendly products on our fertile lands, and sending them to China, its restaurants and retail outlets, because our soil is very good and clean," Yevkurov said.
Secondly, according to the head of the republic, it is planned to create a logistics center, which could receive goods imported from China and Turkey.
"We believe that this project will provide a good impulse for increasing the trade turnover between Ingushetia, China and also with Turkey," he added.
Thirdly, Chinese business representatives are interested in contracts for maintenance of wells where oil production was stopped long time ago.
However, Ingushetia cooperates with China not only in the field of trade. "Cooperation is also developing in the field of education. We have a very good program, in which we intend to invest: China will make a group for learning Chinese at the Ingush State University and each year will provide non-payable training of 10 students at Shanghai University. In any case, knowledge of the Chinese language can help young people,’’ he said.
"I hope we will succeed," Yunus-bek Yevkurov concluded.
