Emergency declared in Krasnodar Territory

A state of emergency was declared in Krasnodar Territory due to severe flooding. 22 settlements and 550 houses were destroyed in the Tuapsinsky District, where heavy rains caused two mountain rivers to overflow, RIA Novosti cites the spokesman for the Administration of the District, Vladimir Logvinov.

The number of victims is uncertain. It was initially said that 10 people were killed, and then the Prosecutors Office published the date about 11 dead. Now the local law-enforcement agencies have information that 13 people have been killed in the natural disaster, Interfax reports.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the total number of injured is 26, six of whom have been hospitalized. The scale of the losses has not yet been estimated, but according to Alexander Tkachev, the Governor of Kuban, it will amount to hundreds of millions of rubles.
