Magnus Carlsen wins Gashimov chess memorial in Shamkir

Norwegian chess player Magnus Carlsen has won the Vugar Gashimov Memorial in Shamkir, Azerbaijan.

The final ninth round of the tournament Carlsen played white and beat Rauf Mammadov from Azerbaijan. The game ended after the 35th move of the Norwegian chess player, R-Sport reports.

Carlsen was very pleased with his performance in Shamkir, and expressed confidence that if the organizations invite him next year he will go there again.
