Presidential elections finished in Kazakhstan

Presidential elections have finished in Kazakhstan.

The voting at the presidential elections in Kazakhstan ended on the whole territory of Kazakhstan at 9.00 p.m. local time (6.00 p.m. MSK). The voting polls closed in four western regions: West Kazakhstan, Atyrau, Aktobe and Mangistau. The Voting of the main part of the republic ended an hour earlier.

The current presidential elections in Kazakhstan are the fifth. 3 Candidates are taking part in it. The main presidential aspirant is the current President Nursultan Nazarbayev. He has been governing the country since 1989.  Nursultan Nazarbayev was the First Secretary of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan, and then became president. Secretary KC Communist People's Party Turgun Syzdykov and chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions Abelgazi Kusainov are also registered as candidates, RIA Novosti reports.
