Sochi veterans receive anniversary medals

Veterans of the Great Patriotic War have been awarded medals of the 70th Anniversary of the Great Victory aboard the ship ‘Kruzenshtern’. The vessel made its first voyage of the historic-memorial expedition. It visited Belgium, France and Greece in two months, RIA Novosti reports.Sochi Mayor Anatoly Pakhomov said that the ship’s arrival was a patriotic gesture to congratulate the veterans and Sochi dwellers on the Great Victory. Preparations for the expedition started in 2014.‘Kruzenshtern’ will spend three days in Sochi. Locals may visit the ship, see a photo exhibition take part in excursions. The ship will visit Novorossiysk, Kerch and Sevastopol to mark May 9. It will then be on its way to Toulon, Reykjavik, Murmansk, Archangelsk and Gdynia.
