Mehdi Sanaei: Russia supports abolition of anti-Iranian sanctions

Iranian Ambassador to Russia Mehdi Sanaei, speaking at the forum of the Russian Society of Political Scientists in Kaliningrad, said that the lifting of the ban on supplying Iran with S-300 missile defense systems confirms the decision of Russia to support the elimination of sanctions against Iran. 

Sanaei said that the two countries are determined to reinforce the level of mutual cooperation. He also concluded that the two countries enjoy vast potential for expansion of cooperation aimed at fostering regional stability. 

"Construction of a nuclear power plant in Iran in collaboration with Russia is considered to be an important step for expansion of mutual cooperation," the envoy added.

He emphasized the similarity of the positions of Russia and Iran regarding a number of conflicts in the Middle East.
