Parliamentary commissions in Armenia to discuss budget project

Parliamentary commissions will start discussions of the bill for the state budget for 2011 today. The hearings will continue until the end of the week, Armenia Today reports.


At a joint session of the commissions the Minister of Finance, Tigran Davtyan, and the chairman of the Central Bank, Artur Javadyan, will present the principles of developing the bill and the main macroeconomic figures that are put into the basis of the bill (inflation, the deficit and payment of external and internal debt), formation of income (taxes and custom duties), the structure of budgetary expenses, expenditure policy and others.


Premier Tigran Sarkisyan, Vice-Premier and Minister of Territorial Management Armen Gevorkyan, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Artur Grigoryan, head of the National Statistics Service Stepan Mnatsakanyan and Chairman of the State Income Committee Gagik Khachatryan will attend the session.


According to the budget project for 2011, expenditure should reach 999 billion drams, income – 850 billion drams, leaving a deficit of 148.6 billion drams ($1 = 360.51 drams).
