Ivanishvili: Georgian National Bank acts inappropriately

Georgian ex-Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili said at a conference of Organization 2030 that the Georgian National Bank was acting inappropriately, resulting in a fall in the value of the lari, News Georgia reports.

In his opinion, if the National Bank starts reducing the volume of currency circulating, the process could impede economic growth. He said that the authorized structures and professionals should be the ones to find a solution to the plight.

Ivanishvili denied that his criticism had had a negative impact on the image of Georgia and the rating of the National Bank.
