US Atlantic Council delegation arrives in Georgia

A working group of the US Atlantic Council has arrived in Georgia this Monday to study the political situation in the country, Georgian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nino Kalandadze said on Monday, News Georgia reports.


The delegation consists of both republicans and democrats and they will stay in Georgia until October 21. They will prepare recommendations presented by the US legislative and executive branches.


The US Atlantic Council is a non-governmental multifunctional political and scientific organization, aimed at uniting supporters of ‘atlanticism’ in the USA. It was established in 1961 with its headquarters in Washington. Its main goals are scientific research in the external policy of inter-Atlantic ties, mainly economic issues, policy for developing countries and roles of international organizations. The Atlantic Council includes representatives of the largest corporations, political elites and military industry spheres and well-known politologists. The council is financed by the largest monopolies and funds, and private and state donations.
