Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway will be open to third parties

Azerbaijan will open the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway (BTK) to third parties, the Minister of Finance Samir Sharifov claimed, stressing that the project is primarily aimed at strengthening the traffic capacity of the country.

"At the same time, the project may also be favorable and important to other countries, in particular China, as a good opportunity for the north-western regions in terms of the supply of Chinese products to European markets via Central Asia, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey," abc.az quoted the minister as saying.
