King of Jordan on weakening of IS

The King of Jordan has spoken about the weakening of Islamic State, mass media report.


The power and influence of the terrorist group Islamic State (IG) has begun to weaken, Jordan's King Abdullah II said on the US TV channel CNN.

 

"I think that it is a beginning of the end for IS in Syria and Iraq. The good period for the terrorist group is over. I think the good times for IS have passed," TASS reports King Abdullah as saying.

 

‘‘From the military and tactical points of view, we can see that an attack (the position of IS) is developing in Iraq, the King said. "But the main issue is how to provide sufficient support to the Kurds, this is very important." In addition, he noted, it is necessary to "stay in dialogue with the Sunnis in Iraq and let them know that they have a future and that they are not alone."
