EU countries to discuss plan to counter Russia's propaganda

At the June summit in Brussels, the heads of state and government of 28 European Union countries will discuss a plan of action to counter the so-called 'Russian propaganda' in the context of the conflict in eastern Ukraine.

"It is expected that EU leaders will discuss a plan of actions to counter Russia's disinformation campaign in June," RIA Novosti cited a diplomatic source in the Belgian capital.

In early 2015, Lithuania, United Kingdom, Denmark and Estonia called on the European Commission to develop a plan of action against the Russian 'propaganda campaign'. It was suggested to establish a Russian-language TV channel, which would broadcast news and entertainment programs for the Russian-speaking audience in the EU and beyond.
