Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that some Western countries are reaping benefits from unrest in the region.

"The world should not be glad about the predicament arising in the region. The US and European countries should not be honored for selling more weapons to this or that country," Iran’s Fars news agency cited him as saying.

"The killings, terrorism, explosions and destruction have been going on for centuries in the region," Rouhani added. According to him, this causes "countries in the region to be frightened of each other and paves the way for expanding the weapons market."

Tehran has repeatedly called on Riyadh to immediately halt the air strikes on Yemen, which have continued since March 25, saying that dialogue is the only way to end the current political deadlock, Trend reports.
