Russia to award winners of European Games as world champions

Russian Minister of Sports Vitaly Mutko said that Russian athletes winning awards at the I European Games will be tantamount to world championships, R-sport reports.

The Russian presidential sports council will hold a meeting on May 25, raising the status issue.

About 360 Russian athletes will compete for medals at the I European Games in Baku on June 12-28.
