US to back Georgia in EU association

The US has expressed readiness to back Georgia in realizing the EU Association Agreement, as stated in a declaration of the US-Georgian economic, commercial and energy group passed at a session held in Washington on May 4, TASS reports.

The US has congratulated Georgia on the progress in realizing reforms within the framework of the Association Agreement.

The working group has discussed the Georgia-2020 Economic Strategy, bilateral cooperation in agriculture, copyrights, energy security, development of infrastructure, innovations and business.

The US backs Georgia in its strive for participation in the Silk Road Forum that Tbilisi will host in October 2015.
