Glorifying Nazi collaborators cannot be justified by anything, war veterans from Russia, Belarus and Azerbaijan said in an interview with Vestnik Kavkaza.

Their general opinion was expressed by an honorable member of the veterans of St. Petersburg, Viktor Markov. "And who can positively relate to this, especially veterans? We are participants in the war, blame ourselves that we have not finished off those Nazis," he laments.

This view was fully shared by the famous writer Abdul Huseynov. "It's a nasty thing, of course. Once, we were in the same country, lived together, and now nationalism manifests itself," the veteran said. According to him, "we should sit at the table, talk and find a common language" to solve this problem.

The chairman of the Joint Council of partisans and underground fighters of the Moscow War Veterans Committee, Roald Romanov drew attention to the fact, that "nationalism immediately appeared after the Soviet Union collapsed and its people began to make money." "And money is a serious matter, it solves many problems and creates a lot of problems," he said. According to him, "it is necessary to improve industry, agriculture and science. We must understand that, in fact, this problem causes problems," Roald Romanov concluded.

A veteran of the Northern Fleet, Captain of the First Rank Ahat Muhamedov, said "when I was studying at university in Tashkent, and we read Lenin's works, I still remember: 'Comrades, be afraid of nationalism'. The collapse of the Soviet Union gave some confidence to nationalists, who began to raise their heads. And all these things raised the ignorant part of the population, who thought that their nation is better than other nations, greater and so on," he reminded.

"I think that nationalism, Nazism, fascism have no place on Earth at all. What happened in Ukraine is such a disaster, when the right sector of western Ukraine raised its head. What they commit now is beyond my comprehension. They are real Nazis. Nazism has no right for existance. And I'm sure that the situation will be changed in our life. We just need some time. And we will support internationalism," Ahat Muhamedov summed up.
