The Migration Department of Szechuan invited journalists of six major Russian media (ITAR-TASS, Russia Today, Nezavisimaya Gazeta, Komsomolskaya Pravda, The World and Politics, and LifeNews), who visited the city of Chengdu. On April 27th the delegation of journalists visited the offices of major companies of Szechuan, where they learned about the economic development of Chengdu.

The journalists paid great attention to the industrial and logistical development of the city, visited the Maipu and Dunfan Danqi Companies in Gao Xin and the Chengdu-Europe railway station for high-speed trains.

According to a report by Maipu, in recent years the Russian market has become one of the key markets for the company.

The Russian journalists asked the following questions: “What is the advantage of your products in comparison with the products of other companies?” “What problems did you have when you entered the Russian market?” One of the Russian journalists suggested a solution to the problems which could appear when cultivating the Russian market.

High-speed trains which leave from the station of Qingbaijiang reach the city of Łódź in Poland. The Chengdu-Europe railway, which passed through the ancient Silk Road, was opened in 2013. It has a reputation as the fastest and safest railway. Cargoes are delivered from here to Central Asia, the Middle East and Europe.

Russian journalists found the new railway very interesting. V. Pavlov from Russia Today compared the role of the road for China to a transport frontline. According to him, “the Chengdu-Europe railway will encourage development of the economy of China and the countries through which the railway passes.”
