EBRD President arrives in Georgia

The President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Suma Chakrabarti, has arrived in Georgia with his wife. They were met at Tbilisi International Airport by the Minister of Finance, Nodar Khaduri.

"The most important event begins in Tbilisi. A number of interesting bilateral and multilateral meetings are scheduled. The EBRD President’s visit is especially important,”  the head of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia said.

According to the EBRD President, it is very important that Georgia’s reforms show why the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Bank invests in this region.

"First of all, I would like to point out that I'm quite proud that the first EBRD annual meeting and business forum in the Caucasus is being held in Georgia. It is critically important that your reforms became a perfect example of why the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Investments must invest in this region. We have already invested 2.6 billion euro in different sectors of Georgia,” Georgia Online cited Chakrabarti.
