US Navy jet crashes into Persian Gulf

A US Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet crashed into the Persian Gulf after taking off from the US Theodore Roosevelt aircraft carrier, the Associated Press reports.

The pilots flying the aircraft ejected safely. Service officials said the crash was not caused by hostile activity.
