Accident of Proton-M: personnel or diversion?

This morning the launch of a Proton-M carrier rocket failed. It was due to deliver into orbit the Mexican satellite MexSat-1. In the 497th second, at an altitude of 161 an abnormal operation of engines of the third stage was registered. According to the Russian Federal Space Agency, during the third, upper stage of the Proton-M the satellite burned up in the atmosphere. No fragments were found.

 

According to the Russian Space Agency, the interdepartmental commission is to investigate the causes of the abnormal situation.

 

President of Russia Vladimir Putin was informed about the incident. Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev ordered a committee be formed in order to find out the causes of the failure and put forward suggestions for personal and financial responsibility.

 

The deputies of the State Duma shared their versions of the accident. They explained that this accident is caused by difficulties that have been going on for 20 years. In their opinion this prevents young professionals from being trained and can lead to diversions.

 

According to Sergey Sobko, head of the Duma Committee on Industry (KPRF), there were some difficulties in 1990 in relation to training young professionals.
