Russia replaces Smerch with Tornado-S

According to chief of the missile troops and artillery of the Land Forces of the Russian Federation, Major-General Michael Matveevsky, the Russian army will be provided with a modernized version of the Smerch rocket systems. The improved version is called Tornado-S.

‘‘We will receive the upgraded Smerch, which is called Tornado-S,’’ RIA Novosti cites Matveevsky.

Matveesky underlined that the Tornado-S will considerably extend the capabilities of the Russian army.
