Media: US oil companies to fight anti-Russian sanctions

US oil companies, suffering multibillion-dollar losses from the Western sanctions against Russia, are fighting to have the sanctions reduced.

Bloomberg reports that BP, Chevron and ExxonMobil are spending millions of dollars on lobbying and looking for ways to approach officials from the State Department and the Federal Treasury, as well as members of Congress.

To date, they have managed to establish cooperation with a number of former senators, including John Breaux and Don Nichols, as well as the former Governor of Mississippi Haley Barbour, RIA Novosti reports.
