US State Department: Crimean Tatars face discrimination

The US State Department released a statement on Monday in connection with the 71st anniversary of the Soviet government’s forcible deportation of  Crimean Tatars at the end of World War II.

"Almost 10,000 Crimean Tatars have been forced to flee their homeland, and those who remain have been subjected to abuse," the State Department said, calling to "stop these human rights violations," TASS reports.In addition, the US State Department also reminds that the Obama administration condemns Russia’s illegal attempt to annexe Crimea.
