Halal Expo 2015 opens in Moscow

The Crocus-Expo Center in Moscow has opened Moscow Halal Expo 2015. Over 200 halal companies from Russia and other countries will be presenting their products until May 23. The main theme of the exposition this year will be growth and development of national manufacturers and international commercial and investment relations with the Islamic world. Food, fashion, tourism, financial and medical companies are taking part in Halal Expo this year.

Rushan Abbyasov, deputy head of the Muftis Council of Russia, told Vestnik Kavkaza that the whole Russian society was excited about the opening of Moscow Halal Expo 2015. He said that halal industry in Russia was successfully developing and cooperating with the Islamic world.

Kakhraman Shabanov, the director for development of Ekol, said that his company was participating in Moscow Halal Expo every year and became its general sponsor for the first time. The company has been manufacturing halal products for about 15 years. Its meat products was fit for consumers of any religion.

Madina Kalimullina, the director of the exposition, explained that one of the main goals of the Halal Expo was to demonstrate development of the halal market in Russia. In her words, only 1-2 companies were making halal products 5 years ago. The director noted that companies making Islamic financial deals, manufacturing products under the halal brand, owners of restaurants were present at the exposition.
