US spends $2 billion on military operations in Iraq and Syria
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaPentagon spokesman Army Colonel Steve Warren said that US spending on military operations against Islamic State in Iraq and Syria amounted to $2.1 billion.
According to Warren, 2000 hand-held anti-tank grenade launchers AT-4 will be delivered to Iraq as early as next week, RIA Novosti reports. It is expected that the anti-tank weapons would be an effective tool in the fight against car bombs, which are widely used by militants.
The US-led coalition began air strikes on the IS positions in Iraq in August last year, and the following month a similar campaign was launched in Syria.
