Torch of the First European Games to arrive in Zagatala

The torch of the First European Games, which is travelling through the cities and regions of Azerbaijan, arrived at the 'Territory of Roses' – Zagatala. Thousands of the district's residents gathered on State Flag Square in the Azerbaijani town of Zagatala with tricolor flags and flowers to greet the participants in the torch relay, Trend reports.

 

The world champion in Budo martial art , Master of Sports Tabriz Balakhanov, took the torch from the symbolic gate of the First European Games. Having finished the planned distance, he handed the torch to the next participant in the relay - the winner of the XXI International Chess Festival in 2011 in Belgrade, Khadije Khalilova.

 

The 'Baku-2015' flame, lit from the torch, was given to the Heydar Aliyev Center for storage until the end of the First European Games. The ceremony ended with fireworks.
