Sochi ski season closes

The ski season in the resort city of Sochi officially ends today. Downhill slopes  were working for a record 149 days, the press service of the mining complex Gorky Gorod said.

First, after the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi the ski season was not only the longest in the last seven years, but the most widespread. According to the administration of Sochi, the onset of the winter mountain complex attracted more than 800 thousand tourists, double that of previous years. The number of skiers in the mountain cluster in the peak days of January reached 43 thousand.

In 2014 the skiing season in Sochi, which opened on December 12, was interrupted for two months because of the Olympic Games and ended on May 11.
