Stoltenberg: NATO will counter aggression against its members

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said in Washington that the Alliance will give a proportional response to aggression against its members, according to article 5 of the NATO Charter.

Concerning the leading role of European countries in resolving the crisis in Ukraine, he noted that the situation was both a challenge for Europe and the world. Europeans play the key role in finding a solution, says the secretary general. Participation of the US would benefit the process, in his opinion. Soltenberg added that Canada was helping Ukraine.
