Phoenix Muslims condemn exhibition of cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaLeaders of the Muslim community in Phoenix, Arizona said that an exhibition of cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad is an attempt to violate the principle of freedom of religion. The event, in their opinion, could trigger a new wave of violence.
"If you do this in the name of America, then (by your actions) you insult America, like those who commit violent acts in the name of Islam insult Islam,’’ RIA Novosti quotes Dr. Yasser Sharif during his visit to a mosque.
The exhibition of caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad was organized in the Islamic Community Center of the city, and, as previously reported, has become, according to the organizers, a response to a shooting at a similar event in early May in Garland, Texas.
