Russian paratroopers to form rapid reaction forces

According to the commander of the Airborne Troops, Colonel-General Vladimir Shamanov, in the near future, Russia is to form rapid reaction forces on the basis of the airborne troops.

"Russia is planning the formation of rapid reaction forces, which are to be formed on the basis of the airborne troops. They will be able to act as an independent group, and as part of the total groups in the individual selected areas,’’ RIA Novosti cites Vladimir Shamanov’s words, which he said on the program 'General Staff' on RSN radio.
