John Kerry cancels tour of Europe due to broken leg

An injury received this morning by US Secretary of State John Kerry has turned out to be serious, after the 71-year-old diplomat fell off a bicycle and broke his leg. As a result, a visit to Spain and France planned for the beginning of the week was cancelled.

According to Tass, Kerry will soon return to the US for treatment.

Today the US Secretary of State was going to meet with the King of Spain, Philip VI, the Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy and the Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Garcia-Margalit. On the agenda was the signing of the permanent deployment to 2.2 thousand American soldiers at a military air base in Moron de la Frontera.
