SOCAR doesn't intend to reduce its share in DESFA

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) does not intend to reduce its 66% share in Greek gas transmission system operator DESFA, the head of SOCAR Investments Department, Vagif Aliyev, said.

Despite proposals by Greek side on reconsideration of the signed contract and a reduction of SOCAR's share to 40%, the Azerbaijani side didn't change its position: "SOCAR does not intend to sell or reduce its 66% share in DESFA," APA cited Aliyev as saying. 

Currently, the Directorate-General for Competition of the European Commission is considering the issue on privatization of DESFA.
