Taimuraz Mamsurov dismissed

Russian President Vladimir Putin has dismissed the head of North Ossetia, Taimuraz Mamsurov. According to the Kremlin, Tamerlan Aguzarov has been appointed as acting head of the region.


The head of Ingushetia, Yunus-bek Yevkurov, in an interview with Vestnik Kavkaza noted that he has had a good, open relationship with Taimuraz Mamsurov over the years. "Many things have been done in North Ossetia in the time since I attended as the head of Ingushetia: roads, various tourist, economic and social projects. I've seen Taimuraz as an open, wise and purposeful politician," he said.


The head of Ingushetia highly assesssed the chances of Tamerlan Aguzarov undergoing the procedure of elections and becoming the head of North Ossetia.


A Candidate of Historical Sciences, Alan Kasaev, in his turn, said that in the ten years that Taimuraz Mamsurov was in power, the opportunities provided to the republic's leadership were not used to the full.


Speaking about Aguzarov, the expert recalled that he has been in the top leadership positions in the country for 12 years. "This is a very experienced man, who worked in the prosecutor's office and headed the Supreme Court of North Ossetia. I pin serious hopes that the country will experience positive changes after his arrival," Alan Kasaev said.
