Putin in flood-stricken Gelendzhik
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaRussian Premier Vladimir Putin has arrived in Gelendzhik where he visited flood-stricken villages and will hold a meeting to discuss ways to clear up the damage, RIA Novosti reports.
The Krasnodar Territory saw heavy rains that caused rivers to overflow on October 16 in 30 villages. Over 5,100 people were affected by the flood, over 1,800 houses and social facilities were damaged. 16 people died.
Putin will visit the locals, a school and a kindergarten.
A inter-department commission is working to estimate the damage expenses.
Approximately Emergencies Ministry 2,500 members are involved in clearing up the damage. Krasnodar Territory will receive 527 million rubles in financial aid.
There are three types of compensations: single compensation (10 000 rubles per person but not more than 50 000 rubles per family), for loss of property (partial loss – 50 000 rubles, full loss – 100 000 rubles per person) and a single payment to the families of victims (1 million rubles per one deceased divided equally among family members).
The premier will head to Rostov-on-Don after Gelendzhik, where he will have a meeting for agriculture, the Governor of the region Vasily Golubev and will visit one of the largest agroindustrial holding, leader of Russia’s Turkey meat processing ‘Eurodon’.
