Iran has long experience in conservation of sturgeons and is currently working on restoring their population in the Caspian Sea, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Seyed Borgayi announced today at a press-conference in Astana, Trend reports.

"We have adopted a law on the conservation of sturgeon stocks, according to which a six-month ban is being imposed on sturgeon fishing," the Deputy Minister said.

According to Borgayi, Iran greatly contributes to the preservation of the Caspian Sea's ecology, as many rivers with clean water flow through its territory.
