New oil and gas deposits discovered in western Turkmenistan

The discovery of oil deposits on the Barsagelmes field allows experts
to talk of its high prospects, the state oil concern “Turkmenneft”
stated on Tuesday, Trend reports.

The construction of the new oil fields is one of the priorities of the
state concern, which now operates about 30 fields. They include more
than 600 oil and gas deposits at different stages of development.

The concern conducts work on the growth of new commercial reserves of
hydrocarbons in accordance with an approved program of exploration. In
this regard, within western Turkmenistan, along with work on assessing
the hydrocarbon potential of the new fields, exploration activities of
the deep-lying horizons are carried out on previously-developed
fields.
