Turkey’s border with Armenia will remain closed until Armenia and Azerbaijan have resolved the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict , Turkish Prime Minister Recep Erdogan has said, reports CNN Turk.

He also recalled that the border was closed due to Armenian “aggression against Azerbaijan” in 1993 and further occupation. He also said that Azerbaijan is an indispensable participant of peace talks and can not be removed from the process.

According to the protocols of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkey and Armenia, signed in 2009, Ankara and Yerevan’s aim is the maintenance of peace in the region.
