Georgia plans to develop economic ties with Israel

The Georgian Minister of the Economy Vera Kobalia sees three possible
ways of developing ties between Georgia and Israel, Business Georgia
reports.

The first way is agriculture. 60% of agricultural products are
imported due to inefficient distribution of agricultural resources.
Israeli companies with agricultural experience may help in the issue,
she said.

The second way is the preservation of labor resources. Skilled
specialists and scientists moved to Switzerland, USA and other
countries. Georgia needs to preserve its people, using Israeli
experience, the minister said.

The last way is tourism, with great underused potential. Israel has
many Russian-speaking people with a knowledge of the English language.
This provides a good basis for developing bilateral tourism. Georgia
is the oldest Caucasus state and has a lot to show others, Kobalia
said.

Kobalia expressed discontent with the low trade turnover between
Israel and Georgia, equal to only $100 million.
