Baku 2015 European Games: triumph of Azerbaijani gymnastics

6 sets of medals in gymnastics competitions among men have been played for today at the Baku 2015 European Games. The day was successful for the representatives of the national team of Azerbaijan, which is hosting the competitions, as well as for Russian athletes.

In the rings exercises Russian gymnast Nikita Ignatyev won the silver medal (15.333). The champion title was received by Petrunias Eleftherios from Greece (15.633). Ibrahim Colak from Turkey won the bronze medal (15.133). The representative of Azerbaijan Oleg Stepko was in  fourth place (14.446).

At the same time, the Azerbaijani gymnast won the silver medal in the exercises on the vaulting horse (14.600). Saso Bertonchelzh from Slovenia won the gold medal (14.966), the third was Brynn Bevan from the UK (14.200). David Bielawski from Russia was in fourth place (13.900).

However, in the floor exercises good fortune smiled on the Russian gymnast and he won the bronze medal (15.000). The champion was Rayderli Mige Zapata Santana from Spain (15.333). Fabian Hambyuhenu from Germany was second (15.100).

In the vault competitions the athlete from Azerbaijan Oleg Stepko won the bronze medal (14.966). Gold was won by the representative of the Ukrainian national team Oleg Vernyaevu (15.266).

In the parallel bars Azerbaijani athlete Stepko won his third medal of the day, but the third medal was of the highest standard. He surpassed Russian David Beliavsky (15.700). The bronze medal was won by the Romanian Marius Daniel Berbekar (15.600).
